Unstable Hex
Unstable Hex - Wanna Jam 2026 Entry
Inspired by games like hot potato and the card game Hex Hex you play a necromancer fighting for supremacy. A powerful hex has been cast upon you and the others and you need to make sure that you don't end up with it before it detonates. Navigate the arena, outsmart the other necromancers, use perks to defend yourself. Be the last skeleton standing!
I've provided both a WebGL version and a Windows download if you prefer. They are both the same build of the game and should be able to cross play with each other.
Multiplayer / Unity Gaming Services
Unstable Hex was built with Netcode for GameObjects from the ground up using a host/client architecture. Host games, have your friends join you, or open it up to the public. It also leverages Unity Gaming Services for account profiles, leaderboards, lobbies and relay. You can cross play against WebGL players and Desktop (Windows) players.
Public and Private lobbies support up to 6 players with optional bots to fill the ranks. Or you can play completely solo against bots. Lobbies also have customizable settings like the number of rounds, the fuse timer on the Hex, the difficulty of the bots, and whether or not you want perks enabled.
Note: You can update your multiplayer nickname on the Main Menu!
How to play single player
If you don't want to play with other players that's fine! Simply host a game and make the lobby private. Then you can play with as many bots as you want (up to 5)!
Controls (Note: Controls can be rebound in Settings):
- Movement - WSAD
- Look - Mouse
- Jump - Space
- Use Perk - Q
- Pass Hex - E
- Sprint - Left Shift
Additionally:
- In Game Menu - Esc
- Curent Match Standings - Tab
- Ready Up - E

fun game actually if i played it with friends in Friday night .
like the art and the concept
How is it unstable? Not trying to be mean, just curious.
It's like playing hot potato. The "hex" is unstable and will explode after an unknown amount of time so you need to pass it. The more it gets passed around the more unstable it gets. Also holding for a few seconds will also increase the instability. The meter at the bottom of the UI is supposed to give you, the player, an indication of how unstable or close to exploding the hex is.
ohhh cool
